Video: Turning a nail into a tiny sword looks like a lot of silly fun
You
could hammer a nail into a wall or something but why not hammer a nail
and turn it into a tiny sword? That's right. It's a completely silly
exercise that could also be a half-commentary on creating useless
objects but it also looks like a lot of fun to actually do too. Plus, it
makes for a nice drink stirrer.
How A Fake Video Game Screenshot Is Made
Consumers are smarter today
than they used to be, but that hasn't stopped video game publishers from
releasing what have become known as "bullshots", doctored images that are meant to show what a video game looks like, but end up being so modified and fancified they're often nothing of the sort.
Five Terabytes of External Storage for $130
The advertised $150 $140 price for this Seagate 5TB External was already a great deal. Getting it for $130 is that much sweeter. [Seagate]
Shake Up Your Hosting Duties and Floor Your Guests This Thanksgiving
While
holiday parties are often a pleasant (and delicious) way to get
together with your family and friends, they also mean more time spent
cleaning up. Between Aunt Lisa traversing your brand new hardwood in her
dirt-encrusted boots and your adorable, annoying nephew tracking tinsel
all over the carpet, a four-hour…
How to (easily) become a Lego VIP and get some free cool stuff
Last Saturday I went to an official Lego store one hour before the doors opened to the public. I got a lot of free
cool stuff. I got to roam the store in peace to check out special
holiday offers before anyone else in the planet. How? I'm just a normal
Lego fan—with a Lego VIP card. And you can become one too. It's…
This Is The Army's New Pocket Drone
The
Cargo Pocket Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance program,
known also as CP-ISR, is a new nano-drone concept dreamed up by the
folks at the Army's Natick Soldier Research Center. Where as most
unmanned aircraft look to provide info as to what is going on over the
next hill, or far over horizon, CP-ISR is…
This is what happens when you bombard a GoPro with X-ray beams
Sploid reader Andrew Seltzman sent us these videos of his custom-made radiation-shielded GoPro camera
going under an industrial irradiator and getting bombarded by X-rays.
Reminder: Getting irradiated by a particle accelerator doesn't give you
superpowers. I think.
Dinosaur Nerds Are Already Mad At Jurassic World
The trailer for the new movie Jurassic World

already pouncing on the dino-filled movie for inaccuracies.
What's Your Worst Holiday Travel Horror Story?
We
all have one of those holiday travel stories. That time you got to the
airport and realized you forgot to click the buy button on the ticketing
site. That time you stepped onto the train platform and the zipper on
your suitcase broke sending all of your sweaters onto the tracks. That
time you got on a bus and your…
Did Lego leak the rumored SHIELD helicarrier?
Last week, Lego released details of the newest modular building, the Detective's Office (10246)
which I will be purchasing the instant it comes out in January. In the
official designer video, there was an Easter egg, caught by the eagle
eyes over at Groove Bricks that may confirm the rumored S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier.

the course of the mid to late twentieth century, photographers set out
to document the rapidly shifting makeup of America's expanse. Lewis
Baltz was one of the foremost artists to capture the landscape and
architecture in an amazingly austere, yet moving way. He passed away
this week at age 69 of a long-term…
Amazon's New Local Handyman Service Looks Super Useful
We've known for a while now that Amazon wanted to start offering local services. Now, the store for everything is selling TV-mounting services ahead of all the TV sales on Black Friday. And you know what? That sounds like a pretty useful addition to the Amazon family.
